Why Live in Centretown?

Centretown is one of those Ottawa neighbourhoods where you can actually live a lot of your day on foot. Coffee shops, restaurants, groceries, downtown and the Rideau Canal are all close by, while the neighbourhood itself has a great mix of older character homes, townhomes and condos.

What I like about Centretown is that it still feels like a real neighbourhood, not simply an extension of downtown. You’ll find mature streets, local businesses and lots happening around you, along with quieter residential pockets tucked between the busier streets.

There are trade-offs. Parking can be tighter, yards are generally smaller and you’re giving up some suburban space for convenience. But if being able to walk to dinner, work, the Canal or your favourite coffee shop matters to you, Centretown is hard to beat.

The housing here can also vary quite a bit from one street or building to the next, so averages only tell part of the story.
