You’re tired of paying a condo fee. Would moving to a freehold townhouse solve that?
It might give you more control. It also means taking responsibility for work the condo corporation may currently handle.
Picture replacing a monthly fee with a roof repair, snow removal, exterior maintenance and a bigger utility bill. The costs haven’t necessarily disappeared—they’ve changed shape.
Before you sell, I’d compare what your fee actually covers with the costs and responsibilities of the homes you’re considering.
The right move should fit how you want to live, not just remove one line from your monthly budget.
What would you most want to change about your current condo?
